Hamster chewing large wooden cage

Hi everyone, this is my first ever post.

I just wanted to ask about my new hamster. He is only a baby and I got him a couple of days ago. He has a large ‘Pawhut’ cage which is about 115cmx60cmx60cm, so pretty big. The only problem is that it is made of wood and he has started chewing the back two corners. He would have to chew a lot to escape but I don’t think it would be hard for him to do so! He has so many wooden toys and chews and I tried putting a ceramic pot there but he pushed it away. The thing is he sleeps in both of those corners too. Is there any advice you could give me? I’ve heard of lemon juice but is this safe? I’ve got some new wooden bridge so maybe that’ll be good to put them there. He can’t be bored because he has so much space and things to do. Any advice is welcome. Thanks!

Would it be possible to cover the parts he's chewing with aluminium corner profiles (like this: https://www.amazon.co.uk/GAH-ALBERTS...99693&sr=8-5)?

It's possible he will move onto chewing another area though and if he tries to chew the aluminium like he does the wood it might not be good for his teeth.

I know people have added mini tiles/mosaic pieces (need to be the hard ceramic type) to areas that hamsters have chewed. would that help?

Ok thank you, I shall take this into consideration

For now I have put some wooden stick bridges up on both sides and a few stones and a little wooden house. Hopefully that’ll be ok :/
