I joined a little while ago but only just got round to posting! I work in a pet shop and in the past couple of years I have had 2 Syrian hamsters. My first Nervous Nelly was terrified of life and I spent a couple of months turning her into the most tame potato, and after that I didn’t want to sell her! She recently passed away but she was very old and did well. We also had a hammy returned to us as the owners couldn’t handle and I ended up giving her a new home with me. She was less than a year old but a couple of days ago I found her passed away in her cage.
I don’t have any hamsters right now but I’ve reserved a baby boy who’s coming home in 2 days time.
In the past I’ve kept mice and rats and I used to find hamsters a bit boring but I’ve been totally converted! I also have 2 gerbils, 2 ferrets and a tarantula.
