Talking Greetings from a Newbie

Hi everyone. I'm joining from Sunny CA and am a school Principal. I purchased two hamsters prior to School Closure as a way to teach my students empathy. Since being home, I have discovered that my hamsters are NOT both female and have now welcomed 8 additional pups to our family for a total of 10. I initially planned to give the babies away when they were of age, but since I have been here watching them grow daily, I am head over heels in love and do not wan to part with any of them. With that being said, I figured I should learn all I can about Hamsters and thus I found this community. I am eager to learn and share about our loving family.

Hi & welcome to the forum.
Sounds like you've had your hands full with the unexpected pregnancy!
Which species do you have?
Have you managed to sex them & separate the babies now?

Wow it seems like you've got a lot on your hands! Separate the males and female babies in 2 separate bin cages (once they've been weaned from their mother) and remember that hamsters are territorial and will each need a separate cage of 450sqin of unbroken floorspace if you plan on keeping all then. Hamsters are a handful, so good luck!
