Smile Want to adopt dwarf edinburgh

I adopted Dave the dwarf and he lived a happy 2.5 years in a habitat I built for him with 4 wheels. Sadly Dave has gone to RIP so I am free to rescue and love another. If anyone in Edinburgh has a dwarf looking for a loving home then I would be keen to help. I have PPE and am proficient in Covid 19 protection rules. Thanks guys

I am sorry for your loss.
I'd advise you wait until after lockdown so that everything can be done safely. Remember supplies may not be readily available for a while as well so think about that too.

Hello and welcome to HC!

You could contact hamster rescues or look on Gumtree. Some rehome contactless meaning you would have to pay by bank transfer or paypal and couldn't enter the premises to look at the hamster. The hamster would be left somewhere safe outside for you to pick up.
I collected an unwanted hamster from someone advertising her on Gumtree and arranged a contactless pick up. I wore PPE and the hamster was left on the drive in a disposable cardboard box with me watching from across the road. The previous owner went back inside, i picked up hamster in the box and put her in my carrier then disposed of the box and my PPE.
I don't think the journey would be classed as essential legally but the hamster was almost en route back from my workplace so i picked her up like i would pick up my groceries.
I figured that its not the hamsters fault that humanity has messed up again. I'm happy to say that this particular hamster was rehomed to a loving home.
