Sounds normal enough so don't worry.
She make take a while to settle in & get confident enough to come out while you're around so give her time, just talk to her quietly if you're near the cage for now.
She'll probably be coming out for food & water at night when it's quiet.

It might look as though she's not taken on water, but since hamsters drink very little (5-10 ml for a dwarf, more for a Syrian) it may not be noticeable yet. Keep an eye on the water bottle. Are you feeding her the same diet she had before going home with you? If it's different, she might take a few days to adjust. Also, remember that a new cage and new environment is a huge change for her, and she's probably just feeling a tad uncertain about it all - no matter how wonderful her set-up is. As Cypher says, she probably just needs a few days to settle.

thanks!

I put a little bit of peanut butter on the water bottle so she might get drawn to it a bit more.

I also got her plenty of chew toys and candy puzzles (puzzles with a candy treat in it.

she smells everything but only seems interested in running and hiding in her houses and burrowing herself in her bedding.

should I take her out regularly yet?

thanks so much for the replies <3

kind regards,

Aki and Bekje

do you think she will like it when I pick her up and let her play yet? on the internet, it says I shouldn't, but my friend thinks I should. ( she has a lot of experience with animals )

what to do?

thanks so much!

It's very early yet, each ham is different so you have to let them guide you with how fast taming goes, if she's nervous & you rush ahead to just picking her up she'll probably just get stressed. Give it more time & just talk to her for now as I suggested before.
