Default New to Hamster Central

Hi There,

My name is Gareth and I’m new to Hamster Central.

I have a 3 month old Syrian hamster called Monkey but she just gets called monks most of the time. She got that name because never stops climbing and loves to try hang off the roof of the cage.

Previously had another Syrian called Bridget who sadly passed away in September last year due to a form of skin cancer in hamsters

Since adopting my first one I’ve developed a bit of an obsession
I spend way too much time researching and learning as much as I can.

Looking forward to getting more experience from others and answers for things I don’t know.

Cheers,

G

Hello and welcome to HC!
I'd love to see a photo of monkey who sounds to be a very lively hamster. This is a great place to talk about all things hamster and learn more about these fascinating little creatures.

Welcome Gareth! Your hamster sounds adorable! Two of my hamsters climb their bars... monkey is an appropriate name! You will find so much valuable information on here and some very experienced and helpful hamster owners.

Hi,
I am new to this forum. I made my user name the name of my hamster - Ootley. I'm probably one of the older members but I am enjoying my new Syrian short-haired (fancy) hamster.

She loves to run in her ball at night and goes for hours on end. She doesn't like the 6" wheel that came with the Kaytee CritterTrail small cage. I am heading out to pick up the bigger one and attachments to make a larger environment for Ootley.

Here is Ootley! Hopefully you can see this link...

Thanks,
Bob
