Hi, I just got my first hamster about 2 months ago. I did a lot of research before I got her and I love her so much. Her name is Wilbur.

To introduce myself, My name is Abigail. I'm 21 years old, and I love animals.

I'm actually a very experienced aquarist and have spent many years taking care of fish. I didn't think I'd ever get into the husbandry of other animals but here I am. I have very little experience with hamsters but I did about 6 months of research before I got one.

I started on the subreddit for hamsters but I didn't get much of a sense of community there so I found Hamster central.

I look forward to making friends on here and reading all about everyone's hamsters

I am also a fish keeper and just got my new baby dwarf hamster. Strangely, I think caring for a hamster is very similar to fish keeping, so far. Mainly observing and making sure he is thriving in his habitat.
