Lightbulb best sand

Hi, I am a new x2 dwarf hamster owner and really want to provide a sand bath for them - however I am really unsure of what sand to buy as I have read that many are dusty, tas anyone tried this Vitakraft Chinchilla sand ?

https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/...A2VRX392MOR0SH

Thanks

Default Re: best sand

It says very fine sand so might be too dusty and be bad for their breathing.
There are 3 main options people go with, first checking the batch isn't dusty.
Hamster sand.
Reptile sand, that has no calcium or dyes.
Children's play sand, washed and sieved.

If it's a clear bag you can shake it and see if fine dust is visible, dust statics too.
Or open it and feel how it is in your hand and it's consistency.
