Default Help... my hamster is acting weird.

So I have a golden Syrian hamster. Her name is Tazi and I really love her.
Lately, I let her run around in her playpen. She has been playing with her toys and such. But, i put her on my desk alot now. (With her toys, food, and a blanket underneath)
And let her run around. I was playing with her but she was running everywhere. I picked her up to put her back in the cage but she kept jumping out of my hands and started to bite the blanket. Is this normal or no?

Hello and welcome!

Hamsters like to run around and explore when out of their cage. That's the whole idea.

Your hamster was probably unhappy to be put back in her cage when she wanted to have some fun and run around.
I don't think she was acting weird or abnormal, my guess is that she was expressing herself.

I don't think a desk is a safe place because she could jump or fall off and hurt herself. I'd stick to the playpen or hamster proof a room if that's possible.

If you want to interact with her while she's out then sit in the playpen with her so she can run over you.
