We have just adopted s Syrian hamster it is light grey in colour an I've seen on line these are rare its very loving and handles great but now my other son wants one and I've read they can't be in pairs so any suggestions will be appreciated

You are correct, Syrians cannot be in pairs. Congratulations on adopting your new hamster.

Congratulations on your new family member - and welcome to the forum! The only way to adopt another Syrian would be to also adopt another cage, I'm afraid.
