Smile Hello... And why my hamster has a bald spot behind his, ear?

Hi there, first time I'm posting on here so will introduce myself first. ... I am a proud hamster mumma of 2 adopted syrian hamsters. Alica we've had for almost 18 months, and nibbles recently adopted 2 weeks ago. An unwanted fully grown male, unsure of his exact age, he is at least 6 months old. He is still settling in. Was very jumpy to start with so have been taking things super slow, easy at his pace. He hasn't jumped the last few, days and seems to enjoy a gentle stroke now for some time, and comes to me for food... So we are happy with how he is, settling in considering.

The last couple of days I noticed a bald patch has developed behind his ear/top of his head. Doesn't look inflamed or irritated. He is behaving normally other than this. Its, pretty hot here at the moment. So wanted your thoughts, please. Happy to take him to the vet, but I know that will scare him.. He's doing so well bless him.. Just figuring out how to post an image on here to show you. .

Thanks in advance for your comments
