Default Hello from South Africa

I'm new here although I've been visiting the site for advice since we got our two Campbell's dwarf hamsters last year.

I've found it to be a very valuable source of information on such topics as correct food for dwarf hamsters to safe bedding.

Our two little ones are Monty (Colonel Montmorency, Countess of Floufles) and Horatio (Admiral Lord Horatio Nelson, Earl of the Somme and Duke of Agincourt).

Monty is about one year old and is a female. The Admiral is a little male of undetermined age. We were lucky enough to have got him quite by chance when we went to buy Monty's food from a pet shop and saw this little forlorn lone hamster in a cage there. I asked about him and the shop assistant said he had been returned by his owner after getting attacked and mauled by a cat. He had list an eye. We immediately bought him and he has been an absolute joy. His grand military-inspired name is a testimony to his bravery and the awful experiences he's had.

Hello and welcome to HC. Looking forward to pics and updates of Monty and Horatio. Good on you for rehoming Horatio.
