Unhappy My hamsters swollen toe

Hello I am new to this site for my apologies in advance for any mistakes I may make. I have a two month old Syrian who's right index finger is slightly swollen. It is hard to find feedback about hamster health so I'm hoping someone can give me advice.
She is not showing any signs of bumblefoot and she is eating, drinking, and behaving as her normal cuddly self.
I will try to upload a photo of her toe

Please help, I'm worried about her!
thank you,
carlin

Default Re: My hamsters swollen toe

I would check her wheel and toys to see that there is nothing she can catch her toe in. Wooden toys can cause splinters and some wheels have a tiny gap between plastic units that nails can catch in. If the swelling gets any worse or if there is any discharge or pus then you need to see a vet. Infections in toes can travel up the leg.
It's usually best to rest the foot with no wheel till the swelling subsides. Pulled nails can take a while to regrow. Give other enrichment to keep her busy if you remove the wheel.
