Hello - New hamster not drinking or eating
Hello, I got a new hamster yesterday but he doesn’t seem to be eating or drinking anything is this normal when a hamster moves to a new home?he is storing his food in his bed but only seems to be eating a small amount of food but hasn’t had a drink since arrived home with us on Monday afternoon, I’ve tried a water bottle which I’ve double checked works and a small bowl of water. He’s only 10-11 weeks old, he seems very active still especially when all the lights are off and he sleeps well during the day so I don’t know if this is normal and he just needs more time to settle in

It’s completely normal, he’ll slowly get used to the new environment and noises. Once he gets more comfortable, confidence will come along too
Here’s a good video to watch:

it is common when you first bring your new hamster home. They get more comfortable as they get acclimated to their new environment. You might notice that your hamster might not be coming out of his hideout too much either and might also be making some screeching noises whenever he sees you. its normal. just give it sometime to adjust.

Re: Hello - New hamster not drinking or eating
Thank you very much for your replies, I will continue to be be patient with him he seems to be settling in a bit better now but does seem ready to interact with me just yet so I think he still needs more time.
