How can I tell what corner my hamster uses as a toilet?

I am currently taking care of a Russian Dwarf hamster! I am planning on litter training her and I cannot tell which corner I should put the tray in. Please let me know if there are any ideas on how to find this out and what kind of litter I should use. Thanks!

Look for an area that has the most droppings and put the tray there. Put their droppings in the tray. It's easier to litter train them to an area they are already using than try to litter train them to another area.

Does your hammie have a sandbath? A lot of Russians have their toilets in their sandbaths or nests. Russians dont usually litter train though, its more a case of knowing where their existing tpilet is sbd cleaning it regulary tbh

Dont use any litter substrates since theyre not safe if eaten, just fill the potty with bathing sand
