Hello all! Firstly I would like to thank everyone previously for your care and concern on the other thread where I asked about his infected abscess

I've been a hamster-dad for many years (since 200

, but my hamsters are usually healthy and the only other abscess I've seen is a cheek pouch one years ago (she was sent to the vet too and lived a long life after!), so thank you moderator(s) and fellow ham-dad/moms for helping out!

Here's my little boy Kiko

He was the runt of the horde when we got him- we found this little boy sitting in the corner of the cage while his siblings were all grabbing food away from a large food bowl. He's really shy- he has this thing where he would hide his face in your hands if you kissed his forehead while carrying him

We took him home and nursed him back to health, and now he's our little spoilt boy- he sleeps on the sofa or on our bed in the evenings, and throws a tantrum if we are back late! (We give him head strokes while he sleeps on our laps at 8 in the evening, every day!

OMG, he has such incredible cuteness and fluffiness!!! I totally love his great name, his wonderful personality, and his cute looks. I could just stare at his cute face forever and never, ever get enough, lol!!! I just love hearing about his ritual of sleeping next to you and accepting wonderful kisses and getting petted. He has definitely stolen my heart already, and I look forward to getting to know your precious prince charming and, of course, becoming all giddy again seeing even more of his adorable pics. He has me wrapped around his tiny paws already, lol.

Hello guys! Thanks for all your warm messages! He had a follow up appointment with the vet, and everything is fine right now! The vet said the abscess might return, but she taught us how to drain it safely and said it's nothing life-threatening

He is sooooo spoilt. He loves getting petted (we call those sessions pat-pat sessions) and will throw a tantrum if he doesn't get any- he would mess up his cage and stare at a corner!

Eek. . . I can hardly believe it is possible that your dear Kiko is making me even more smitten with him! His pics and video on HC and instagram are just utterly adorable and I can't stop saying "Awwwww.....!!!!" He really is a charmer beyond words. Looking at him really makes me all smiley faced and as happy as can be. I can totally understand spoiling him thoroughly and never, ever being able to deny him anything, lol. I love the name "pat-pat sessions" and how he throws a hamtrum and puts himself in time out when he doesn't get ample pat-pat sessions, lol. I really love absolutely everything about him really. I'm already a huge fan.

Aww thank you!! Yes we absolutely spoil him! I work from home so I usually carry him during my short breaks, and I'm able to feed him every 3 hours. He's overly attached to me! I do go on work trip and he gets a little sad, but when I return home he would snuggle up on me!

Here's a picture of him sleeping next to me while I catch some winks after arriving home from a very long flight (and jetlagged!). My wife said we both slept for almost 2 hours

I love everyone on this forum- I've been a drifter for a while but I decided to finally sign up and share the love

Should I start a new thread and share some photos and stuff on the syrian hamster subforum? I believe this subforum is just for introductions and I don't want to be too rude
