Default Sad little Cornish girl

Hi all we have found the site through a sad time my daughter lost her 12 week old syrian during the night. It was lively last night and found out of his bed this morning (She was on her wheel last night when we checked her before bed. we have clean fed and tamed our little friend.
We held of for years as I though if this happened she would struggle following previous bereavement experiance.

We live near lands end in cornwall and I cannot find a breeders locally who can help me. Toffie the original hamster was brought from p@h and I really don't want to purchase one from then again.

We may be coming down to essex in the next few week as and are wondering if there are any breeders which we could visit on our way through?
Any help or recommendations would really help us
Thank you

Check further down the list of forums to the breeder list. Or perhaps check when there is a hamster show on. Breeders often sell hams there. I hope your daughter feels better soon. I remember well how I felt when our hamster died. I kept worrying that I had done something wrong. Perhaps your daughter would like to join hamster central one day. Good luck

I'd suggest taking a look in the adoption section of Pets at Home or look at RSPCAs website they might have hamsters near you

So sorry to hear what has happened to your new and young hamster. This can be very upsetting and a difficult time for you and your daughter.
It depends on your route and how much of a diversion you can manage. Also it will depend on whether a breeder has currently got any babies available. Cold weather does not make for good mating conditions! I have 2 recommendations, thinking of your probable route, and you can explore availability on Facebook pages I think.
Tuftyfluffs in Borehamwood and Tristar in Bath.

I’m also from Cornwall! Check the adoption section of P@H, they usually have hammies available Any adoption hammies in p@h willl either be returns/rehomes or hamsters that have been in the store for a while and need to be moved out of the main tanks to make way for new hammies.

If you’re going up to Essex then definitely check out animal shelters along the way to see they have any hamsters available!

I’m pretty sure that I saw recently that Tuftyfluffs didn’t have any babies available but it might be worth contacting Tristar.

A couple of others that might be worth thinking about is PS Hams in Weston Super Mare and Bourne Valley in Andover.

The nearest show to you would be Dawlish which isn’t until March but there is a show in Wootten Bassett (Near Swindon) on Saturday 24th November. I can’t guarantee what will be available but there is a sales table at most shows.
