New here! :)
Hi all! Just joined this site today. For most of my life I've had hamsters and I just love the little critters! <3 I'm probably older that the average hamster owner (50) so that adds up to quite a few hamsters over my lifetime! I recently lost the 2nd of a pair of dwarf hamsters (Felix and Oscar) and couldn't bring myself to leave the cage empty so today I brought home my new Syrian who has been named Seymour. The dwarfs I had never really warmed up to being handled so I am looking forward to having a little friend I can interact more with. I live in the US (I see many of you are in the UK) in New York state. I look forward to getting to know you and chatting about our little furry friends!

Re: New here! :)
Welcome! I’m also an older hamster owner of a Syrian, and sort of a “neighbor” of yours, being in Massachusetts. Chiclet is my very first ham, and luckily the taming went very well and she is comfortable with handling. In fact, occasionally she’ll quietly sit still in my hands when I’m holding her (usually I’m holding my breath, hoping the magic moment will last!). Of course, most of the time she’s a wiggling bundle of energy. This is a great forum, full of good info and support. Enjoy your new youngster!
