Shalecia and Loopy-The Newbies
Hi. It's Shalecia. Yesterday, I bought my first pet ever. I decided to get a Robo Dwarf Hamster. I decided to name him Loopy because he went crazy the first few hours last night on the wheel. Of course i have allot of questions.
Is it normal for my hamster to poop allot after i give him a carrot?
When is an appropriate time to start trying to touch him?I didn't want to rush it.
My hamster doesn't seem to drink a lot of water. Is that weird? I just got him yesterday so should i just give him time?
Any other advice is highly appreciated. Thanks from me and Loopy.

Re: Shalecia and Loopy-The Newbies
Yes, it is normal for them to poop a lot. I got mine out the next day and she is now very attached to me. I am sure he is going to start drinking soon, but if you are worried then you can give him lettuce, watermelon, or any juicy fruit or veggie. A tip I like to give is a great chew toy for them is a dog chew called Whimsies, the one I get is the alligator looking one and my hammy LOVES it. she goes through it within 3 days. Hope this helped!

Re: Shalecia and Loopy-The Newbies
Hi & welcome to HC
Robos drink such a tiny amount it will be barely noticeable & he will most likely drink at night so you may never actually see it just check the water bottle is working ok, run a clean finger over the spout, when you change the water each day.
Go slow with taming/bonding, begin by spending time talking to him & when he's comfortable with you being around the cage begin to introduce your hand with a treat, keep your hand still be patient & wait for him to come to you.
Robos can take a lot of time & patience to tame so no need to rush anything, take time over each stage.

Re: Shalecia and Loopy-The Newbies
Hi Shalecia, welcome to HC. Congratulations on your first ever hamster Loopy. Be sure to let him adjust to his new surroundings and take your time with taming, be sure to be patient and talk softly to your robo. Like cypher says, robos can take longer.
