Hi - I want to own a hamster. I currently own 4 German Shepherd Dogs, 3 American Shorthair cats, and 2 Betta fish. I want to get a hamster but never owned one or asked my parents for a pet. I hope I can get information about hamsters and eventually be able to own one. Thank you for reading.

There are tons of extremely helpful information in our forum that will help you with researching everything you need to know about all species of hamsters. Hammies make incredibly awesome pets so I hope that you are able to have one as your furry, loving companion one day. If you do get one, I would love to get to know him/her. Btw, I can see you have many wonderful, family pets; one of my favorite breeds of dogs are German Shepherds as I had a few and totally adored each and every one of them. I also absolutely love betas, too. Had a few and loved them all. I look forward to seeing you around the forum; if you have any specific questions, please don't hesitate to ask. Hamsters are such fun little pets so hopefully you are able to bring a new furry friend into your life soon. I visited this forum quite a lot before getting my first (and only one so far) hamster 2 years ago.
There is so much useful information on this forum and very friendly helpful members too so don't hesitate to ask questions and we will do our very best to help

Hi and welcome - hopefully you can get a hamster as soon as possible because they are just amazing personalities to come home to. And I see you have American shorthairs! Such a lovely breed, I myself have a british shorthair

One thing I will say though, is make sure that if you do get a hamster, the cats cant get to him haha. I've had to move my hamster cages several times after underestimating my cats ability to reach them!
