Hi there - glad they are separate now.
Geetee I noticed you said the both now have FLUFF. The fluffy type bedding is very dangerous for hamsters. It can cause blockages and also twist round the tiny limbs. Please get that all out of both cages.

Toilet paper is what most of us use here. Just tear it up, make sure you give plenty. That's much safer than that fluffy stuff. It's very misleading as on the fluffy packaging, it says it's safe, but because hamsters like to pouch everything, the fluff isn't safe.
Make sure it's plain toilet paper, avoid the scented stuff.

Glad you spotted this and took action. I adopted 3 robos from gumtree who were living together for a year or thereabouts. I eventually separated little Maple as she was getting bullied. They soon adapted.

Hope your two are ok now.
