Hello!
Hello all! My name is Jade and I'm hoping to get into hamsters, and potentially even hamster breeding once I learn enough about the genetics!
What would you guys say the biggest thing I should know before getting into hamsters? I'm planning on getting Syrians.
Also what are some good intros to genetics or breeding in general in Hamsters?

Hello and Welcome to Hamster Central.
The biggest thing I would advise is doing as much research as you can before welcoming home a hamster - there are lots of very informative sticky threads at the top of each section in the forum. If you have any questions feel free to ask as we are more than happy to help you out.
I am not a breeder or have much knowledge with genetics but this link has good information regarding genetics - Genetics and Inheritance
