Default Hi All! New to the forum today :)

Hi all, I'm new today on here. I am Trix and I'm 28 years old. I have 7 Syrian hamsters and 2 robos. I have a good knowledge with hamsters and am wanting to better my knowledge even more with ethics and genetics. I would like to become a registered ethical breeder in the southwest in the near future. I don't want to profit from this. I just want to better the quality of hamsters in this area. We don't have any ethical breeders down here to my knowledge in Devon and Cornwall. I am also looking for mentoring and extra knowledge before I start my own Hamstery. I look forward to speaking with you all about all things hamsters! Trix x

Welcome to the forum.
I would say there are quite a number of hamsteries in the Southern area though Trixxy. You could join the Southern Hamster Club and attend shows to meet some people but offhand I can think or likes of Bourne Valley Hamsters, Vectis Hamstery, Doric Hamstery, Tristar Hamster (Bath) and several others which are nearish and are all National Hamster Club registered and abide by their code of practice on care. Lots of research to keep you busy now

Hi, Thanks for the reply. Yes there are a few in the southern area. But I didn't know of any in Devon and especially none in Cornwall. I'll check these ones out, thank you for sharing those. I'll look into shows today and get attending some! Thanks, Trix

I guess hamster people are quite used to travelling as shows tend to be spread around the areas they cover. I'm sure you will enjoy the shows and meeting new hamster friends.

Hello and welcome. I think there is another breeder in Devon. Maybe join the Southern Hamster club and you may get some networking of other breeders through that. Or host a show in Devon maybe I think there does tend to be an element of travelling with hamster shows as people go to the nearest location - for example there are 2 or 3 shows in the north of england but all are a bit of travelling for me in the north of england. Cornwall and Devon are quite a long distance I know - for travelling anywhere else. Whereabouts are you?
