Meet Bella!
Hello everyone, I’m new to Hamster Central! I got my female Syrian hamster Bella about a month ago and she’s about 5 months old at the moment. I’m trying to tame her, however as she bites quite often. She’s not afraid of people as whenever I walk into the room she climbs onto her house and looks out!

Welcome. Hopefully in time you will both get over the biting and have have lovely times together.
Is there any particular time/place when she bites you?
Some hamsters are bite if your hand is in their cage. If Bella does this. Try getting her to come out of the cage before taming. You could let her climb into a cup/box etc. Then take her somewhere else for taming.
Also to get her used to your scent. Put toilet paper up your sleeve for a while, then tear it into strips and put them into her cage.

When I put her in the box when I clean her cage out, I can pick her up and she doesn’t bite, however when she’s in her cage, she bites more often. I use gardening gloves to pick her up when she’s in her cage and she happily walks across those.
Also I’ll try the toilet paper method, thanks!

Congrats on getting Bella 
You may do better getting her used to hands outside the cage to begin with, you can buy or make a playpen & put some toys etc in for her to explore & interact with her in there.
