Back on the hamster wheel!
Hi all,
My name is Amy. As of yesterday I have become an owner to a gorgeous little lady called Eevee!
I must admit I feel a bit silly joining a hamster forum, last time I did this I was 14 haha. Hoping there's some fellow owners my age on here
I used to own hamster yeaaaaars ago, had a pregnant one from a pet store which was a shock at the age of 14 but I kept all the babies and loved them so much.
I'm now older with two cats, living in a house with my boyfriend and we decided to get a hamster. I did want to adopt but I couldn't find much options in Cardiff, RSPCA near me only had ferrets.
Anyyyhow, I got her from a Garden centre which was such a great experience. The staff were so knowledgable and the hamsters were in a great living environment, syrians were seperated (unlike pets at home!).
She's in a temporary cage at the moment as we're building a big one from IKEA furniture

Re: Back on the hamster wheel!
Hi & welcome to HC Amy
Congrats on your new girl, look forward to hearing more about her.
There do seem to be a lot of ferrets looking for homes in Wales! That's about all I've ever seen looking through adoption sites.

Re: Back on the hamster wheel!
Thanks for the lovely welcome everyone!
Here's a picture of our little Eevee, our cat Oscar doesn't look too pleased with her presence haha.
Can't wait until we build the IKEA Linmon cage, this "large" pets at home cage is just horrid.

Re: Back on the hamster wheel!
She's so gorgeous, I've mentioned in your other thread about your cat in the background and it's alarming seeing how close it is. All it takes is seconds to strike. Cat's use their paws and their claws can cause serious injury.

Re: Back on the hamster wheel!
Hi and welcome to HC, Amy! I look forward to getting to know your darling Eevee. Both Eevee and Oscar are gorgeous. I do agree with Thin Lizzy. Having Oscar and Eevee in the same room with one another can be extremely stressful and potentially dangerous. It only takes a split second for a terrible accident to occur.
