I'm new
Hi. Here to introduce myself. I have a 6 month old orange hamster, Hammy. She was adopted from support adoption for pets. She was about 3 months old when I got her. She'd been in a fight with another hamster and has a torn ear. She's my 2nd hamster. Previously I had little Rob who was from the SSPCA. I'm wondering if there are some other adult hamster owners here.

Re: I'm new
Hello, welcome to the forum!
I'm sure Hammy is a lovely little lady and you love her very much. Looking forward to hearing about her
Don't worry, there are tons of adult hamster owners, on here and throughout the world! I think that it is just a common stereotype that hamsters are children's pets, when in reality they are owned by people of all ages- kids, teenagers, adults, and elderly people

Re: I'm new
Hi. Nice to meet you. Hammy is Syrian as was Rob. She's moved into a new cage now . It was the largest one I could find- the living world large eco habitat because in her last cage which was also large the savic hamster heaven metro she chewed the bars and chattered her teeth lots. It's hard to tell if she likes her new cage because she digs and chews the corners like she wants it but I'm doing my best. What type of hamsters do you have?

Re: I'm new
Hello, new member, and Hammy. I've been on hamster central for a short time only and you learn such a lot from the members. To quote one of my sci fi heroes "fascinating".
It was interesting about Hammys ear, I wondered how our Ivy got her torn ear, I guess there's a reason why she was on her own in the pet shop.
My son has a long haired Syrian hamster called Cotton and I have just rehomed an older short haired Syrian. They get a bit agitated if they smell each other so I keep them far apart.
I find it tricky taking photos of them but practice makes perfect. Hope you can show us your Hammy soon
