hi! new over here!
Hi! i am new over here. i am thinking of buying a syrian hamster in a week. i am thinking of having my hamster inside a bird cage. i have done a lot of research abt it. can any of u guyz give me some advice...

Welcome to the forum. Good to hear you are doing your research first.
Bird cages are not suitable cages for hamster so have a really good read on the forum about suitable cages and hamster care and see if you can meet the needs of a hamster or if you need more time to perhaps make a bin cage and source good food for your hammie before going out and getting one.

No idea what cages might be available where you are but as souffle said a bird cage really isn't suitable, if you're stuck for buying a good cage making a bin cage would maybe be the best thing.

Welcome. If you post a picture of the bird cage we can see if it would be ok for a hamster. A lot of bird cages would not be suitable, but there are some that might be.
When I bred birds I had solid wood cages with wire on just the front. A cage like that could be modified to house a hamster.
