Unhappy Red spot on Dwarf hamster stomach

My dwarf hamster Hammie has a red spot on his tummy. I can't get a good look cause he's old and hates being on his back. It seems like to cut or bloody scent gland. What do I do?

Is it possible to get a picture of it? You could put him in a clear glass jar and take a picture of his underneath and post it so maybe someone will be able to advise.

If not and you can't get a good look at it you'd probably be best to make an appointment with the vet.

It's hard to suggest anything without photos but scent glands can get blocked & infected & then they do need bathing & possibly meds to clear up any infection.
If you can't handle him to well & are unsure what's happening there I would take him to the vet to get it checked out.
