Accorsing to the tracking information, my Alaska should arrive tomorrow. So, feel free to ask me anything about it after that date

There's just one large door on the front of the alaska, you need to fill the base completely with substrate, that's about 15-16cm which isn't that deep really.

There are two doors on the Alaska! According to Zooplus:
- 2 doors (front and top): 32 x 23 cm (LxW)

yep I read that and I thought it meant 2 on the top and 2 on the front, think i was tired lol

Yes there are two doors one big front one and one on the top but the front one is so good I never use the top one as it is awkward. Glad you purchased. It is a really good sized cage. And can be filled with lots of substrate as it has a really good deep base. The only thing I'm not a fan of is the platform. I put it back in recently only to take it out again. It gathers so much dirt and dust. Apologizes I can't post pictures atm I am having difficulty doing so and its a bit of a hassle!

have ordered the alaska today, I spoke to pets at home and they won't do a refund for his existing cage as it is used so I will either find a way to connect the 2 or use it as a backup/spare

will be ordering the fitch bedding later today

no worries about pics, I have looked at the ones on the zooplus website and have some idea's to help him busy and entertained, i purchased the 28cm wheel from amazon and it wont fit in his current cage, but will keep it and put in the new, at some point i am going to attempt to make a playpen for him

well the new age (home) arrived today, it really is bigger than I expected

the bedding won't be here till next week, I did buy a biggish pack of saw dust though the week I bought Shadow, is there any reason a little bit of this couldn't be mixed with the fitch?

If you mix it with Fitch it would still have the risk of allergies developing due to exposure to wood(or at least the larger surface area compared to wooden hideouts and toys).

I wouldn't recommend mixing it to be honest. It'll just be a pain to get rid of afterwards in all honesty! However, it's really your choice in the end so go with what you think suits you and Shadow best. Looking forward to pictures of his completed setup
