Default Time to say hello.

Hi I'm Sabre. I've made my account a few days ago but been on here getting info about two years.
I currently have two hamsters. A female Syrian and a male dwarf. The Syrian is nearly two and the dwarf is about 9 weeks old(I've only had him a week)

When I was younger I had Syrians and I'm ashamed to say they lived in tiny pet shop cages. Like a lot of people I didn't question it at the time. But when I got my now 2 year old Syrian I started looking into proper hamster care and have never looked back.

Hoping to learn more on here and share hamster knowledge with likeminded people who want to give their hamsters the best life and care possible.

So...hi

Hi and welcome to Hamster Central, SabreRose! I am so pleased that you joined our wonderful group of hammy lovers. Don't feel bad about making mistakes. Everyone makes them, but the important thing is that you tried your best to care for you hammies with the info you had at the time and you are now making changes to create even a more lovely home for you newbie hamsters. We are all here to help one another out in our quest to be the best hammy mums/dads. If you have any questions, please feel free to ask.

I look forward to seeing pics of your furry friends, and hearing more about them. I wish you the very best and Eros sends a furry paw shake.

Hi and Welcome, I am a new hammie owner at the moment but I had them when I was a child (over 20 years ago), as with you I never realised when I was younger how small their cages (I prefer the word home though) were, the ones I had had the same size cage as I have now all through their lives and never though they were small, when looking at the cages this time around they seem the same size but now seem too small, I do have a new home for him on the way which was suggested by other users on here, I also went shopping the other day and came back with a large high sided plastic tub which I am going to create a playpen with, he likes climbing the bars on his home at the moment so have decided against the metal bar pens on amazon, I will be filling the tub with bedding and lot's of toys, but the lid will not be placed on while he is in it to enable me to interact with him, all he has had so far is his exercise ball to run around in so he gets a little ore exercise

look forward to seeing pictures of your babies
