Hi and Welcome to the forum.
As others have mentioned, the cage sizes are small and the wheels can cause damage to their backs. Fingers crossed you can upgrade them to bigger homes.
Good on you for rescuing them. What are they called?

I want to add that if you are able to offer a bigger cage, it will be better. I am NOT a small cage fanatic. Just that a bigger cage is NOT automatically a better solution. Hamsters can just as easily suffer in a huge cage if mummy is lazy. Whereas its not impossible that a hamster in a smaller cage lovingly cared for everyday can have a longer and happier life.
BTW I want a bigger car too, maybe a Bentley. but I have what I have.......
