Hello!
Yes hello! I have just joined within these wee hours of the night(it's like 2:30 in the morning). I've come because hamsters are amazing. I've had hamsters in the past. I had one named Bijou after the cute white hamster from Hamtaro. Granted, I was about 8 at the time, so I didn't really do much in the way of actually taking care of it unless it was just feeding... But still I loved that hamster. I was definitely far more careful with it then then some of the other kids around that age...
Regardless, I have recently come to own a new hamster after all these years. I got him from PetSmart. He's a Russian hamster. His name is Victor! I... Uh... Named him after Victor from Yuri on Ice. He's my little baby and I love him so much. He's truly a little blessing.
Uh... Let's see... I also own a cat who doesn't care at all about the hamster, and definitely couldn't kill him if he wanted to (I once found him sitting on a mouse, which he immediately got off of when he thought he was getting treats...). I also have a small dog who is really the only threat to the hamster, but the dog rarely even catches whiff of the hamster as she isn't allowed in my room.
Uh... I'm not very good at these things. I don't know if I should say anything else. So for now, I guess here is a picture of my baby eating broccoli...

Reason: Lol It's hamtaro, not "hands to"

Re: Hello!
Welcome to HC
Victor looks adorable.
I still wouldn't trust your cat, do take care, it's not only that cat's are capable of killing or injuring hamsters but that hamsters being prey animals can be very stressed having a predator around them.

Re: Hello!
Hello and Welcome to HC. Victor's so adorable!
Victor will be very aware of your cat, cats can still harm your ham even if he's in a cage. I would try and keep Victor in a separate room and keep the cat out.
