Hello!
Hello everyone,
I live in London (UK). I used to have three fancy mice, but unfortunately my last mouse (Raisin) passed away a few days ago
They lived in a large 3-floor cage with plenty of toys and stimulation. My room felt empty without furries (You get so attached to them!) so this morning my parents and I went to Pets at Home and got hooked on a trio of roborovski hamsters. Well, we brang them home ( ) and obviously the basic essentials such as healthy food, minerals, a place to hide and toys.
They are in their cage right now, being sweeties
Surprisingly, they are pretty good-natured, and don't randomly flee when I come close. The pet shop staff told me to be very careful about their diet as they are very delicate, but they said that kiwi was a nice low-in-sugar treat. I will probably try offering it to them as a treat in a day or two

Re: Hello!
Hi and Welcome to HC and congrats on your trio of robos. I've already mentioned in your other thread about them being kept in pairs only. I've never fed my hams kiwi and wouldn't recommend it for robos.
Try them on fresh veggies.

Re: Hello!
Hi & welcome to HC
Sorry to hear about your mice.
Congrats on your new little robos, I already replied to your question about the cage, regarding diet they just need a good dwarf specific hamster mix really, P@H do seem to have had a bit of a thing for kiwi fruit for some time now, no idea why! It's really not suitable being too acidic for a hamster, it's generally best to avoid fruits except as rare treats & stick to fresh veg which should be introduced slowly, a small piece once every few days working slowly up to daily.
If you worry about them drinking then a small piece of cucumber is far better than a piece of fruit.

Re: Hello!
Hello and Welcome to Hamster Central.
I'm sorry to hear about your mice.
Congratulations on your trio of robos - I also wouldn't recommend feeding hamsters kiwi and normally I prefer to give veg rather than fruit.
