New from UK :)
Hi everyone,
I'm new... Decided to join as I recently became the owner of two robo dwarf hamsters named Daphnis and Troy. (I've only ever had Syrians before.) I was expecting them to be really terrified of me and bite me, but they have actually been doing great so far one even let me stroke him and they will both take food from my hands and occasionally crawl across my hands.
They love running in the wheel together, grooming each other and sleeping cuddled up together in their hamster tent.
Only tonight, I put my hand in the cage as I usually do and they both ran away. I tried giving them a treat and neither would take it.
Have they gone off me already ?

With robos you can't expect them to always act the same,as with any small animal.Just make yourself a positive experience to them and it will be fine

Re: New from UK :)
Hi & welcome to HC
Hams can be quite contrary little things regardless of species!
I would just carry on doing what you have been doing up until now & they should continue to come to you for treats when they want to.
It is possible that something you may not even be aware of could have spooked them a little.
I do think if you have a pair as they settle in they may not want to interact quite so much a single ham living alone would but they are all different so go at their pace & taming & bonding should progress.

Hamsters usually only nibble unless they're scared, or hurt. Being nibbled doesn't hurt haha. Try rubbing your hand on some tissue then let them use it for nesting material, then they'll get used to your scent. i agree they're contrary. Good luck!
