That's really lovely that you got off to such a great start with strokes & fusses
I'm not a big fan of balls either, even for syrians although lots of people do use them, if you use a playpen or safe area of some sort it gives your ham a chance to explore a lot more, you can make it really fun for them & it also gives you more opportunity to interact with him.
