Re: New!!
Hi Morrow, welcome to HC let your hamster do it's own thing let him/her come to you, be gentle let him/her get used to you your smell etc. Do everything at their speed it is a good way of building trust and it brings out the hamster's own natural character.

Re: New!!
Welcome to the forum & congrats on getting your first ham
Just take your time & don't be in a rush with taming, give your ham time to settle in, if you haven't already do the tissue trick for several days, that means putting some plain white toilet tissue up your sleeve for a few hours then shredding it up a bit & putting it in the cage, this helps your ham get used to your scent in the cage.
The main thing is not to interfere with the cage too much as your ham settles in, so just spot clean for the first few weeks & don't move things around unless you need to.
If you have any questions I'm sure someone here will be able to help.

Re: New!!
Welcome to the forum
Taming should be taken quite slowly, during the first week you should leave them to their own devices, maybe talk to them softly from outside the cage. Then, in the next month or so, try offering treats from your fingers and Palm, let them crawl onto your palm and lift them up a few inches. Once they're confident with these steps, you can try the gentle scooping method of picking them up by scooping from below. If you want a more detailed explanation I'd have a look at HoppingHammys taming method

Re: New!!
Hi welcome to the forum. It's a good forum full of good infomation. Slowly is better for hamster training start by just sitting next to the cage and talking to your hamster even when you think it's sleeping
