Default Hey everyone!

Hey everyone,

My name is Sarah and I am new here to hamster central. I just thought I'd pop in and say hello to everyone and introduce myself. I'm 28 and have been keeping syrian hamsters since I was 10 years old. I would love to make some new friends on here and be able to speak to others who have hamsters.

Default Lilo and Stitch

So seeing as I am new here I thought I would introduce a few of my hamsters past and present to you all.

Firstly I would like you to meet Baymax iphone6s 032.jpg who I sadly lost at the start of May. He was the friendliest hamster that I have ever owned. He was always waiting to get out to play in his ball. His claim to fame was escaping out of his ball and running behind the washing machine making me wait patiently for 2 and a half hours for him to come out and catch him.

Secondly I would like to introduce Stitch my brand new 6 week old Syrian. iphone6s 143.jpgShe is still settling in but is doing brilliant. She's a bit of a hoarder when it comes to her food she has also managed to turn her fur pink with a mineral chew.

Lastly I want you all to meet Lilo. iphone6s 167.jpg Also 6 weeks old she is Stitch's sister. She is taking a little longer to settle in and she loves to sleep.

I'm hoping that these two little ones will have a very happy life with me here

Hello Sarah001, and welcome to Hamster Central! Your babies are just beautiful. What adorable faces they have. Young ones do tend to sleep a lot. They are going to be oohed and aahed over by the members.

Thank you,

The contrast between the two sisters is strange to watch. They're both beautiful. Stitch seems to be a lot more alert as to what is going on around her where are Lilo is a little bit more shy. I can't wait to see what little characteristics they're both going to have. That's what I love about hamsters everyone has it's own little character.

Hi & welcome! They look real cute! Can I ask what kind of cages you have for them?

Of course! At the moment Lilo currently has a Lazybones cage and Stitch is in a Ferplast cage just now.

I'm not familiar with those cages but just as long as they meet the minimum & are not too small. From the pics it looks like a smaller cage & wheel. Maybe other members will be familiar with your set-ups & give you better advice...

The Lazybones cage is 3 levels high plenty of room for her to play in and the Ferplast is two story also plenty of room. I would never buy a cage which would be too small for the animal I was buying.

Sometimes people are unaware that most hamster cages in pet stores are too small. But when you get on these forums you will hear more updates info on hamster care.

The ground level should be 80 x50 cm or 450 Sq in. Levels don't count regarding minimum floor space.

No personal insult, just sharing info & since I don't know the size of your cage floors, you may already be at 80x50? Measure length by width, not height. Hope this helps
