Hello!
You can call me Oddy, or Hey you, whatever you like!

I currently live in the United States, and I have one Dwarf hybrid, Sirius who will be coming home on the 4th of April if all things check out with the vet.

As a kid, I had one pet hamster; a baby Syrian named Wily who must have been quite young given she her size at the time, and who eventually escaped to pursue a life of freedom and adventure in parts unknown. Well over a decade later, I decided to venture into getting a pet again as an adult, and started researching various pets and the instructions for their care.

Somewhere in-between binge watching pet care videos and explanations of the various pros and cons of having a fuzzy, scaly, or feathery friend I stumbled across hamsters. Now what I remembered was a cage that stank to the high heavens, was impossible to clean, and looked like it belonged in a seven year old's bedroom. This did not equate to the spacious cages, affectionate (if sometimes naughty) animals, and the countless Adults (as well as kids) who were obsessed with these little fluff balls. I also realized that the bity evil little she demon I remembered might have been a very different animal if I reached out to enthusiast groups who could have helped educate me.

Now I've just recently purchased my first Winter white hybrid, Sirius and I want to do the responsible pet ownership thing properly. (If we are being honest, I may have just gone little bonkers over tiny furry faces and their wild antics.)

So TL,DR, that's my introduction.
I look forward to basking in the wonderful knowledge and community that is Hamster Central.

Aww thanks guys, as soon as he's home. I've gotta figure out this image posting thing, but his cage is all set up, a 120qt (34in X 24in x 15in or 84cm x 60cm x 38cm (rounded down)) Sterilite bin, with mesh 1/4 inch (.5cm ) mesh and 6.5 in (16 cm) silent spinner. I'm so excited to bring him home.
