Hello from me and Gordon Freeham!

Hi everyone! I'm super excited to have found this forum!

I recently adopted a little Syrian hammy (my 3rd Syrian and 4th ham!) and can't wait to share his adventures with you guys and get some tips and tricks for caring for him along the way! Here's a pic of him when I first brought him home (I'll attach it!)

I love the pale rings around his eyes and the fact that he looks like a little rat! He's named after the protagonist in my favourite video game Half-Life

I also call him Nugget because he loves his nugget food the best!

I completely forgot to ask how old he was when I got him, but I'm assuming around 6 weeks? He definitely looks like a baby! And he's very very nervous. It's so strange because he'll happily sit and eat food from my hand, but the slightest noise makes him jump out of his skin, and he's not very fond of me touching him! (YET!) I'm assuming he just probably hasn't been handled very often until now, so I'm sure he'll get used to it!

I've seen so many people (mainly on instagram) that have such amazing relationships with their hamsters and I want that for me and Gordon! I'm gonna do lots of rooting around on this forum for any tips on loving and taming hammies properly!

What a lovely little ham, I love those rings around the eyes too!
I'm sure your ham will settle in & become more confident with time, they do take a little while so just go at your hams pace, don't rush things & the two of you are going to be the best of friends

Thank you for the warm welcome guys! ^u^ Nugget is settling in really well! I'm having to be very patient with him as he's very shy, but he's allowing me to pet him now, and the other day I got in the bath with him during clean-out and he had a wander over me! So it's all positive

You'd think that his house was too small, but he's still decided to make it into his bed and he's very snuggly inside it hehe! Here's a couple more pics of him! <3
