A Nervous hello.
Hi Im Lucie, I have 21yrs experience with Hamsters, I am a married mother of 3, I discovered hamster central while trying to solve a very sad dilemma. I am the fur mummy to 2 cats an one (maybe 2) hamsters. My Hammy(s) are called Pebbles (Female 10 week old black banded short haired Syrian) and Shadow (Male 10 week old black long haired syrian). Shadow is VERY poorly, not sure if he is already at the bridge.
Please be kind, Im feeling very delicate...

Re: A Nervous hello.
I have no Idea, he was fine on thursday, by saturday night he was unresponsive, soft, cold but not ice cold, limbs move and everything, I have spend 12 hours today trying everything I know of to warm him up, Nothing, no change, His nail beds are pale pink, he isnt solid, but he doesnt respond to heat pads, hot water bottles, rubbing, warm air, water porridge, body heat, nothing makes the slightest impact, He is just a baby, Its not fair, poor little boy (him and my son) Thank you for your reply xx

Re: A Nervous hello.
thanks for your reply, I dont know what happened, He has been un responsive for 48hrs+ I have tried warming him with my body heat, with a hot water bottle, with warm air, porridge, nothing makes any difference, he isnt stiff, his limbs move when you move them... just nothing by himself...

Re: A Nervous hello.
He may have had a stroke or brain haemmorage. If he is still the same then I'd see a vet in the morning and if they say he cannot be revived then he can be given full rest. I'm so sorry x

Re: A Nervous hello.
So sorry to hear about Shadow.
He needs to be seen by a vet as soon as possible. He may need some help getting over the Bridge, so sorry x

Re: A Nervous hello.
Tinky if his nails are black he is already passed over. If you can look at the other hamster you have her nails will not be black meaning the blood is circulating.
When the heart stops the blood clots in the nails and this is a sign he has passed over. I'm sorry.

I'm really sorry for you Tinky. Soufflé is the best to take advice from.
