Re: Rescued Robo from a life of abuse.
Thank you all.. I moved the sand closer to the wheel and at one point he did put his front feet on the wheel
To further brighten everyone's day, here's my pals 13 month old dog sat on the sofa:
He's a Neapolitan mastiff, a real softy but he's going to be a HUGE when he finally stops growing..

Re: Rescued Robo from a life of abuse.
Sadly due to a lack of snout he swallows a lot of air. You know what that means... a nasty smell from the other end, often Like a French Bulldog but with about 20 times more cc of bad odour lol And it's funny as hell how he sits on sofa though, about as close to a human that you could get with 4 legs. I've even seen him sat down on it with his back legs crossed.
Anyhow back to Hamsters: Shabah took some food from my hand a moment ago, first time he's got near me. Tonight I've been hammering away at the JD and Cognac to forget that I'm another year older and the past few months, so maybe he likes the smell of 40% prof? Which I find totally understandable, for the next hour or so perhaps, then I'll no doubt regret it.
One step at a time, I'm happy with how he's getting on.. Fur looks so much better than when I got him and I hope he knows that he'll never see again that nasty mother and child combo that he had to put up with. He's done me a favour too, the 2nd degree chemical burn to my back has not been such an issue while pampering Shabah so it's not been a one sided benefit.

Re: Rescued Robo from a life of abuse.
Quick update:
Shabah cleared all his bedding (every single bit) from both homes and made a huge nest in his sand! How's that for lazy, now he don't have to get out of bed to have a bath
Last night I kept my hand in the cage for half hour, Shabah charged at me a few times and had a few sniffs before taking some food from my fingers. Later that night I woke to a sound in which I first thought he was moving his nest somewhere else; I had a distant peak so not to distract him from what he was doing and woah and behold he's on his wheel, he was on there for a few hours I'd say
So, some good improvements over the past few days.

Re: Rescued Robo from a life of abuse.
Finally! Shabah using his wheel, I did say he would use it in his own time! Wahey!
That is cute him moving his bed into his sand! He's multitasking!
You must be so proud of your baby!

Yer I'm well happy now he's able to have some good exercise, I saw it as the last hurdle of fully enjoying his new life and habitat.
Spur of the moment photo using my phone of Shabah's new bachelor pad:
