I'm in the same boat I got my first Hamster, Pikachu, last Tuesday! It's so exciting! I'm looking forward to seeing how other new owners are doing at the same time as me!

Pikachu is a 7 week old cream/yellow Syrian with black tipped ears! I HAD to call him Pikachu because of his little black tipped ears and pink nose which looks like he's blushing!

I have a Syrian hamster named Akbar. I picked him up on Saturday and let my boyfriend name him. We have been working on getting him use to us. He is willing to sit in my hand for only a moment, but it is a big step. He is a bit of a nutball. He prefers to not use his ramps and jump down from the first level. He is so adorable.
