Salutations!

Greetings peoples! I'm SJ, or Stef if you remember it, and well, I'll be getting a hamster probably tomorrow, but more on that later.

I'm female, Scottish, twenty one, asexual and a complete and utter geek. I live with my parents; we own and operate a B&B, four years running. We do pretty good, I think. My older brother is a teacher in Thailand.

I love- well, many things. Doctor Who, Glee, Firefly, Simon and Garfunkel, The Shins, Watership Down, the smell of lavender, my hair (okay, little bit shallow but I spend ages caring for it!) and loads of other things I can't be bothered to list.

Now, my pet history. I'm pretty sure my first pet was actually a (Syrian) hamster when I was six or seven; mum had had them as a child and we've always been an animal loving family. Shortly after that we got a dog; Lucky, a lab/collie cross, the daftest dog in the world, whom we sadly had to have put down at the age of fourteen in July.

I had many hamsters over the years until I was about fourteen or fifteen; at age ten I got my first rabbit, Baby. Rabbits are probably my truest love; I will have them with me until I die, I'm sure. Baby died young at four dye to health problems, so then I got Pipkin, a wild born but hand reared (long story) boy bunny, whom lived to six, twice the age of normal wild rabbits, until last September.

About the time I got Pipkin I stopped having hamsters and started having gerbils for a few years, then a chinchilla, Kurt, whom died suddenly very young not long after a Lucky.

In December I got Amy, my current rabbit, whom is currently licking my face. She's half diva, half mad, all sweetheart. She is the snuggliest bunny ever, very affectionate and quite funny. She also says hi!

Anyway, after Kurt I decided that I had missed having hamsters and made arrangements to get one. I bought a big cage, have it all set up and will most likely be getting a male tomorrow sometime (we'll be going down south shopping for a few hours, so if we're not back too late we'll go to Pets At Home in the afternoon) and calling him Boba Fett (had to make a deal to put the chinchilla cage in brother's room for space; this was what he wanted in return, personally I do love Star Wars but not as much as him).

So, that was rather long winded... Congratulations if you read it all! I'm impressed! Would you like a picture of Amy as a prize?

And huh, seems as a newbie I can't post URLs.

Well, I can tell you that Amy is a dwarf lop- a rather large one, but a lop nonetheless- and is black and white in a broken pattern. Hopefully I can get a picture later on!

She loves to come through in the living room (her dog crate cage and the hamster cage are both in my bedroom; so long as no one's chewing bars I can sleep through their nighttime activities, I actually can't sleep well in silence) and sit on top of the couch (we have three seater and two seater recliners; I've claimed the two seater against the wall) sleeping, choosing to launch herself at my head periodically.
