Hello! I'm new to hamsters and small pets in the way of I've never owned one, But I've learned a lot about them. Today I went to buy a new nail clipper for my dogs and ended up coming home with two new dwarf hamsters, Fiona and Cake. These two are my first little ones and I'm super excited! They've already warmed up to me very well for the first day and I really like them.

Anyways since I plan to be an art major one day I'll be trying to make lots of DIYs and such so I'd really love some tips and tricks for anything hamster related, really!

Welcome to the forum, I hope your hamsters do well. Do they live together? If they do it'd probably be best to read up on caring for pairs, its not always as simple as you'd expect unfortunately

yes they do live together! the employees at petsmart said these two would be best together since i start school again next month and they'd be lonely alone. the two get along so far together except a little bit of squealing at each other. i'll definitely read up on pairs just in case. thank you!

Please do read up on pairs. They can turn nasty really quick. Hamsters don't really get lonely in the same way a human might.

I'm glad I asked now. Hopefully your two will be fine together but its not uncommon for pairs to fall out and need separating so I'd suggest getting a spare cage handy to be safe and yeah, the reading up which you're going to do anyway Good luck with it, I'm glad your hams like you

are there any special articles you recommend? i really love both of them so i don't want either of them getting hurt
