Hello I also have had my simba for bout 3 weeks now and got him from pets at home. We can hold simba now and he's very tame, hope your little guy gets to be the same

Thanks for the advice. He's not escaped just yet .

Can someone just reassure me though. He's getting out of his nest later and later (last night it wasn't still about 11). He came out about 8.30 for some water and a little nibble before going back in. He was up this morning pottering around as I was getting ready for work and bedded down just as I was leaving. This is perfectly OK yes? I was just worried I didn't get to spend time with him because it was so late . Tonight I'll try and do some in the bath play. with him.

Hello, welcome.. It sounds like he's doing fine- I'm sure he's just going through an adjustment. He's probably sleeping more and hiding in his nest because of a bit of stress, adapting to his new cage and new family. It took a while for my two hams to adjust. He's a very nice looking hammy.

Awww cute. In regards to the 'hip spots' make sure you always leave a little bit of old bedding when you clean the cage otherwise they will rub their scent more as to them it will smell like a new cage.
