Hi all
Hi everyone I'm Simon from the UK and it's a long time since I had a hamster in the house used to have quite a few when a kid and still at home but daughter is at an age where she can take some responsibility and the wife wanted 1 too. So just purchased 2 female syrians Rosey (all cream -daughter's) and Sandy (brown and white -wife's). Set em up in 2 nice cages Rosey has a Hamster Heaven and Sandy has a Savic Cambridge.

Hi Simon and welcome to the forum. Congratulations on your new hammies, perhaps you can put some photos on when they have settled in.
They both have nice roomy cages.

Yeah will get some pictures up when I can- not really seen much of the daughter's yet - doesn't seem to get up at all until everyone's asleep - wife's hamster's a bit more active earlier on. Daughter is a bit saddened by this because she wanted to watch her etc. but told her as she settles in and gets older will hopefully appear more often tried tapping cage and talking to her but she's a bit like me and likes her sleep .
Oh yeah while I'm here - Hamster Heaven came with a toilet and a bag of grey stuff to go in it - anyone know what this is so I can purchase some more - it seems to be using it ok - quite a bit of activity had gone on in it over the night if you know what I mean.

When the hamster has settled in you can gently wake her up so you and your daughter can start to tame her. Once she gets to know you better, you probably won't need to wake her up.
You can get refill packs for the hamster potty in most pet shops.

Welcome to Hamster Central
Most independant petstores and even large supersores such as Pets@Home sell the potty litter - you can also use chinchilla sand - NOTE sand NOT dust - and this is used as a toilet and a bath!!!

Hi and welcome, I'm sure that both hams will soon settle in and become very interested in your family!

Welcome to the forum. Looking forward to meeting your newbies. Like all babies they will sleep a lot but I am sure they will be able to be brought out at a suitable time once they are tame.
