Yeah, I made the mistake of buying my first rat without knowing that much about their care and I had him in a toally unsuitable tank, on unsuitable bedding and feeding him the wrong food!
I had done everything the way the petshop staff had recommended without realising they knew nothing about rats. I joined an online uk rat forum and I have learned much more about rat care. Rat owning is addictive I have 11 now.
I have had hammies when I was very young, so I wanted to make sure I do it right this time

My rats cage takes up a huge amount of space (about 41/2 foot by 5 1/2 foot, maybe more
) I am lucky in the flat I live in I have an alcove in the hallway, I have no idea what I will do when we move. I will need to build an extension
I would love to re-home an rescue hammie so I have pm'd babyboos. Fingers crossed there is a hammie out there who wants to live with me
