Default *Waves* Hey there. I'm an accidental owner...

Hullo. I'm Claire, and I have one hamster, a long haired sable syrian thing called Rhubyn Russell. He was an accident I didn't like hamsters as such before Rhubyn, they aren't really big and squishy enough for me. But he was dumped at my local pet shop and they put him up for rehoming with a donation to a charity. Now this was just before Xmas, and let's face it, all animals need a home for Christmas...unfortunately the lady in the shop who knows me pounced and I ended up the confused owner of one hamster, a cage, and thousands of toys which I hastily bought.
I have experience with rodents and small animals so I'm good with the care, but I figured it would be a good idea to join here.

I'll put a pic of Rhu in the Syrian thread soon enough.

I also own 9 rats and two cats along with Rhubyn.

Looking forward to your pictures of Rhubyn

hello and welcome from me! I am sure that hamsters will grow on you, cause Rhubyn sounds an adorable friendly boy!
I'm sort of the opposite really - I love hamsters but have always been a bit unsure/afraid of rats - its a tail thing I think . But so many people recently have posted pics on here of their lovely ratties that I am definitely seeing them in a new light.
I'm sure we'd love to see pics of all of your pets when you have the chance!

Hi Claire

I'm new too, I have Humbug who is a silver grey syrian, and will be 2 yrs at the end of Jan. I also have five girly ratties - Star, Wispa, Dottie, Misty and Tiptoe, who will all be one in April/May.

If you scroll down the intros forum a bit you will find my post from yesterday, with photos of Humbug and the girls!
