Default Hi everyone

Hi everyone ...I found this forum by accident earlier today and I recognise a few names from another hammy forum I visit (where I've picked up a huge amount of valuable information) so perhaps some people here might recognise me. I've taken a leaf out of Rach's book and posted a profile complete with pictures of our three Syrians: Treacle, Custard and Mocha

As a relatively inexperienced hamster owner (of around six weeks!) I'm hoping to learn loads more and hopefully contribute something to the forum as well!

Welcome to HC holly! and I enjoyed reading your profile as well! Mocha is a neat looking ham, I don't really see many of that color They are all adorable though Thanks for giving this forum a chance! I know many of the people here are members of multiple hamster forums.. sometimes I wonder how the active members balance so many accounts lol!

If I might ask.. how did you stumble on this forum?

Crikey that was quick - two replies already ...hello yet again, Souffle - am working my way through the articles - very interesting stuff

Nice to meet you, SnuggleHam - thank you for your comments about Mocha; I'm still not 100% sure what colour he is, though Souffle has been helping me and we think he's a silver-grey (he's got the laid back temperament to go with that colour too!).

I came across here via Google search. Thats ironic! I love your profile, you have some beatiful hamsters! Mocha is very pretty and usual, the other two look like sweetie. I think Mocha is more of a Dark Grey, but he might be a Silver Grey. They look about the same to me.

I did wonder (after poring over a ton of photos in various books) if he might be a Dark Grey but decided he probably wasn't as they are meant to be quite rare (I think) and, though I love him dearly (and think he's one of the best three hamsters in the world ), I doubt he's rare as he's just a humble pet shop hamster! Unfortunately the pictures that I have of him aren't taken in particularly good light and the flash makes him look sort of pinker and lighter than he really is.

Here's another one without the flash:

Adorable! I love the light and dark contrasts in their fur camera lighting can be tricky when it comes to identifying a hams proper color. ...Hey, is that a foot I see in the upper right of the photo *giggles*

Yep, it's the foot of a nine year old who takes his hamster ownership very seriously and insists on supervising me when I get them out

:Edit: I've just noticed I've got Treacle as my avatar ...did someone do that for me?? If so - thanks

Yup I made the avatar for ya! It seems lots of people make profiles and upload pictures but never make an avatar for themselves, so we end up with allot of profiles with the replacement avatar ..

So if I see a user with pictures uploaded Ill often take one of the pictures, resize and upload it for them. It looks nicer on the profiles page when people actually have an avatar or their own :P

Feel free to change it of you like though
