Re: Edwina
With home improvements going on at new neighbour's Rodney's house, Edwina is doing a good impression of the nosy neighbour next door.

Re: Edwina
Edwina's coat has almost completely changed colour. She was a very dark grey when i got her in January and now she's a light grey with a pale undercoat. Fascinating. Does this often happen with dwarf hamsters?
Sorry Edwina for the unflattering photo of you with full pouches that makes you look rotund like Ozzy.

Ah right. I thought that only happens with pure bred dwarfs and not with hybrids. Mind you, i've never fully understood the who's who in the dwarf world and couldn't tell a winter white from a campbell dwarf.

Re: Edwina
Hybrids can sometimes change colour, it all depends on which genes they inherited from each species. I think some black hamsters can also go silver with age.

Re: Edwina
She looks lovely in her new colours! It can be a bit confusing, sometimes the WW genes will cause them to become lighter in winter then they change back in spring but a lot of hybrids (most of those I’ve had) change colour as they age & don’t change back so it’s a case of wait & see!

Re: Edwina
Thank you all. There's a big advantage of her new coat. She's easier to spot on the dark grey carpet when she free roams and decides to hide somewhere late at night when i want to go to bed. Usually she's busy eating seeds another hamster has hidden earlier.

Edwina's coat has turned so light that she looks like Ozzy now!
